A 130, at the most
..
The efficiency of main canopies has increased tremendously following
the development of zero-porosity material. These small canopies are incredible
in terms of their speed and flare. However, the demands on pilots that
fly the canopies have been raised in connection to this design development.
Specifically, the "quiet time" under canopy previously experienced
with 230 Raider or Clouds no longer exists. Upon landing, the canopies
must be continually, actively and intentionally flown. As a result, the
necessary training required the appropriate adaptation (as at Para Centro
with our new equipment) and the selection of canopy size has become an
individual process. Specifically, the weight of the jumper is taken into
consideration along with his/her interests and capabilities. At Para Centro,
you can try one of our Demo parachutes in order to test its individual
characteristics and reactions. You will also find interesting information
about wingloads and canopy reaction in the article "Wingload"
in .pdf (32 kb) from Performance Designs.
